Hey i think the sites pretty damn good as it is, but what do you think of making some videos similar to the extreme bartending range.. Record the movie of a sequence etc. and then break it down with voice over or describe it as you go.. Im guessing we'll be seeing some more videos soon? Im really finding this site useful but obviously as we work through, we want sum new stuff i think for more complex moves breaking it down would be perfect! Just a suggestion, keep up the good work!

Thanks for your suggestions james, this is one thing that i am working on at the moment!
The main problem with adding step by step movies with slo-mo is that it increases the file size of the movie, which in turn eats more of my bandwidth allocation which then makes the site very expensive to host!
One thing I was thinking of is having a 'members' section where hopfully people will donate a small amount of cash a month in return for regularly updated movies with slow motion to aid learning!
Would you still be interested if i did this, all monies would be used to further site content and aid development!

Id be interested yes but it wud heavily depend on the content, this site has a vast amount of potential and i hope it takes off, but depending on how much you ask and how much you give people may be more willing to pay for working flair, extreme bartending etc. dvd's
If you want any help with the site i will try and help out the best i can, although i cannot supply bandwidth or server space maybe i could help file sizes etc. compression might not be a bad idea.. or maybe just take a still of each step and make each sequence/move a step by step with just one final movie of the whole thing as one?
i.e. Pop to stall (movie) Step one, hold the bla bla (still of holding) Step two, pop the bottle as (still of pop) Step three, catch the bottle on bla (still of stall)
See this in a movie (anchor link to movie again)
just an idea?

Not that I'm volunteering just yet, but the 'demo' display discussed here could be presented many times better with less file-size by using Flash.
Not only could you have a standard & slo-mo rendition (at no extra file cost) but even things like a detailed forward-back slider, and descriptive text could be added on. ... If, unlike me, you knew what you were doing with the latest version of the product. ;D

Nice to see you back on the board dan! As you might have read, the site is currently going through a bit of a re-design to try and make it a little more browser friendly and to give it a fresher look, got a designer dude on the case (leedsflair who posts on this site), so pop over to the re-design thread and leave your comments, i know you are good at checking these things out and giving honest opinions too! As for the flash movie player, that does sound a good idea and im trying to learn a bit of flash at the moment, got me some books and tutorials, but i still have a big hill to climb (my best contribution so far is the FLAIRCO sponsorship banner on the home page). As for the movies, well im im juggling 2 bar jobs at the moment as well as starting up my own company so time is really tight at the moment, but as soon as i get my digi camcorder i will record some new stuff to blend with the new site! Cheers Russ
