What do ya mean, I tried twisting that off with my bear hands Not sure about my slicing/pop technique it can be a bit hit and miss. I fecked up 3 smirnoff ice in a row (meaning I didn't manage to swipe them open and gave up) then the next 3 wkd, and 2 smirnoff ice went off without a hitch. I think it has something todo with trying to hard if Im a bit slap dash it catches the lid perficley. Rob.L

JUst a few tips on getting that perfect champagne pop!!!
1. Bend your barblade some recommend around 15 degrees, i reckon a good pointer is when your blade is laying on a flat surface the opening end should be around 2mm off the bar top.
2. try Practicing with smirnoff Ice Bottles, I find that these have the best results and its very rare a sheer one of these bottles.
3. Hold the bottle firmly with your right hand at the top of the body/base of the neck.
4. Place the blade (bent side away from the bottle) with the left hand aqainst the neck of the bottle, now in a upwards sweeping motion keeping the blade against the neck pull the blade upwards.
5. Hopefully you should catch the cap of the bottle with the opener of the blade and if you are holding the bottle tightly enough the cap should fly off with a loud pop. complete!
It may take some practice with your angles but after a few you should get the hang of it, sometimes different bottles you will find will just sheer the top of the neck off the bottle along with the cap, if it happens alot just open these kind of bottle regularly!
Hope this helps some
Cheers

You only bend the end (the bit that opens the bottle) put the blade on the bar and then push the bottom down on the bar whilst pulling the bit your holding it with up.
comprende?

Bent side away from bottle..... Basically means if you have the blade vertically against the neck of the bottle, the bent edge of the blade sticks out away from the bottle...does that make the mud any clearer? Russ

na that way works too, actually makes it more likely not to get stuck on the lip but does make it harder to hook the cap.

its a long standing joke between bartenders that you should never try and pop becks!
most stories range from - i keep taking the top of the bottle off to icarcked the top of the bottle it hit a guy who then hit anohter guy as he thought he cut him, then the whole bar started to rumble

wkd bottles have to be the easiest by far, bud is quite impressive if you can pull it off, but i find you really have to whack it hard, those bud caps are on very tight
