I was just wondering whats the cheapest place to buy flair bottles from? I know they are $10 on barproducts.com but then I have to pay another $10 shipping to Canada. Is it possible to get them any cheaper than that?

The bottles listed for $10 on Barproducts are known as the Flip bottles. These are affordable, entry level practice bottles that are reasonably durable. However, they are not weighted, balanced or as durable as the Flairco bottles. If you are an introductory or intermediate level flair bartenders, the Flip bottles are an affordable way to start learning. Once your skills advance, you will likely change over to the Flairco bottles for the reasons listed above.
For the record, Flairco is involved with the Flip bottles and we do recommend them for entry level flair bartenders that otherwise have no affordable options to start learning. We feel that the regular Flairco bottles at $20 each are still the best investment a flair bartender can make. As the old adage says, you get what you pay for.
However, we don't expect everyone to blindly believe us. We invite everyone to make the comparison between a regular Flairco bottle, the Flip bottle or any other imitation practice bottle out there. You will be surprised just how big the differences are.
Finally for Dan, Flairco is based just outside of Toronto. Shipping within Canada is quite affordable. If you want to order some Flairco bottles, feel free to email me.
If anyone has any questions, by all means post them here.

Oh I never even knew flairco was in Canada. Do you know how much shipping would cost to Toronto? Also I was just wondering, do flairco make any transparent bottles? I tried the website but its not working for some reason :/

Dan, we are based in Oakville, about a 20 min drive from downtown Toronto. If you have a car, it is likely easier to just stop in. The GO Train has a stop less than a block away as well. Feel free to give me a call at 905-845-FLIP (3547) x13 if you would like to stop by or place an order.

sorry for anyone learning and wondering whether to buy bottles - $20 is a no-brainer just buy it - in the uk it costs us like £20-25 - ($36-$45) and i still think they are a worthwhile investment
oh and for the record i'm not connected with flairco

When I first became interested in flairing, I purchased a knock-off flair bottle(just a no brand name version), but after using the flairco bottles I firmly believe that they are well worth the extra few dollars. It's an issue of consistency and durability. In fact, I ended up giving away the knock off in because I was preferentially always using the flairco bottles.
Go with flairco.

Unfortunately I dont have a car and taking a bus or train would cost almost the same. By the time I pay the tax and shipping itll end up costing nearly $40 :/

If you can afford it, I would get a couple of the standard flaircos, 1 sky, and a couple of weighted tins and a couple of un-weighted tins to see which ones you prefer using.

is it possible to get smaller flair bottles (about 500ml) to practice flair for bottles like j2o, cos instead of shakin em i thought a couple of flips and spins would look better but want a smaller bottle to practice with to build up routines

For J20,bud,becks etc just go to your local pub and ask for the bottles before they recycle them.I just do that and stick a wine cork in the top to hold the liquid in.
